Science funding targets in the context of Ukraine's European integration

The article consists of the comparative analysis of knowledge-intensity of GDP of Ukraine and the European Union. There are identified gaps in the existing level of the scientific activity financial support in Ukraine in comparison with European countries. The main provisions of the strategy and development targets of the economies of the EU before 2020 are considered. Approaches and achieving targets funding for research and development have been analyzed. Current trends in science funding in Ukraine and the EU have been detected. There are measures of the strategy "Europe 2020" compared with the conceptual approach of reforming the system of funding and managing research activities in Ukraine. The approaches to the science funding targets harmonization in Ukraine with the settings of the European strategy "Europe 2020" have been proposed.References
