International migration within national economic sovereignty challenges framework

Abstract

The article considers the essence of migration in Ukraine. The basic preconditions of Ukrainian emigration increase and its nowadays total population reduction are defined. The traditional causes of the increase of emigration flows are related to deterioration of working and living conditions of the population, and the causes of increased mortality in the country belongs to increase of the deadly viruses infection, rising unemployment and alcoholism. According to current conditions the main core of these trends is the deployment of the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine It is revealed that recently national workers taxes cover expenses of social security of Ukraine, where the pension payments prevail. Thus it is shown that instead of creating new economic power, almost all the compensation of the working population is directed to maintenance of retired people or of disabled people. The relationship between emigration of highly qualified personnel and an infringement of national economic sovereignty through the annual increase in budget expenditures and reduction of its incomes is demonstrated. The current trends of the emigrants’ remittances dynamics and structure in global economy and in Ukraine are showed. It is found that only 3% of the receipts go to the creation of new structures in the Ukrainian business environment and the rest is spent on consumption and living. The impact of emigrants’ remittances on Ukraine sovereignty infringement under current economic circumstances is analyzed.
